LSU Softball players Tatum Clopton and Maci Bergeron talk about their wonderful start to the season.
Redshirt Junior Pitcher Tatum Clopton is back in the circle after missing two years with a shoulder injury. In her second game on Friday, Feb. 14, she recorded 10 strikeouts, a new career high. Clopton is happy to be back doing what she loves.
“It just was incredible to be back out there,” Clopton said. “It’s been a long time coming, I’ve told everybody like, ‘I spent so long working towards the light at the end of the tunnel,’ and to finally be at the end of the tunnel felt surreal.”
Junior Catcher Maci Bergeron talked about a different feeling that this years team has compared to past teams.
“We’ve held each other accountable for things, which I think is really cool,” Bergeron said. “We haven’t really done that much in the past, so I think it’s going to take us a long way”
LSU Softball takes the field against Penn State on Friday, Feb. 21 at 3:30 p.m. CT in the first game of the LSU Invitational inside Tiger Park.
