LSU Baseball Head Coach Jay Johnson spoke to the media after the Tigers dominated in-state rival Nicholls State University.
Johnson was very happy with his team after the rout, citing the players’ focus on the game.
“We were locked in tonight,” Johnson said after the win. “They just need to play baseball, and I think we’ve seen that.
Freshman pitcher William Schmidt started the game on the mound for LSU, managing to put together a solid outing despite his pitch count. His head coach had high praises for him.
“He is a great pitcher and he’s gonna be a great pitcher,” Coach Johnson said. “I can’t wait to get him on the mound again.”
The Tigers now gear up for an upcoming road trip through Texas. Johnson expects the team to grow closer and is quite excited for the trip.
“I can’t wait to get on the plane. The weather is gonna be great.”
