LSU Baseball players Chris Stanfield and Steven Milam spoke to the media following a dominant win over Nicholls State University Monday night.
This was the Tigers’ second game after a painful loss to Omaha on Saturday. In these last two games, LSU has dominated from the first pitch to the final out.
“The last two games we really realized that we are great, and, you know, that when it comes together that we can do real damage,” outfielder Chris Stanfield said.
Stanfield had two hits against the Colonels, including a double. He has started hot in his LSU career after transferring from Auburn.
Infielder Steven Milam also had two hits on Monday night, including his first homerun of the year. That dinger came at an important moment in the game and helped seal the Tigers’ victory. Despite a slow start, Milam has remained confident.
“Not the start I wanted but you can’t keep a good hitter down forever,” Milam said.
The next time we hear from the Tigers it will be from Texas as they head off for a western road trip.
