Coming off a road win and heading back up the ranks, LSU Gymnastics will be back in Baton Rouge this weekend for the Podium Challenge at the Raising Cane’s River Center.
LSU has a solid record in podium-style meets over the last year. Last year’s podium challenge brought a new school record, the team winning their fifth SEC Championship and eventually a national championship all on a podium.
“Yeah definitely, I don’t think we think too much about a podium or not a podium,” senior all-arounder Haleigh Bryant said. “We do our normal gymnastics out there every single time, but I think it’s good to get on the podium before an SECs or further down the line. Getting the opportunity to compete on a podium for the second time this year because we did in Oklahoma City as well, but doing it at the end of the season will just propel us onto SECs and further on this year.”
The Tigers will take on George Washington University at 6:30 p.m.
