The Office of Global Engagement is collaborating with LSU’s Olinde Career Center and the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) Abroad to launch a fully funded eight-week global internship program in Central America this summer.
This program is the first of its kind for LSU and will help equip students with key skills and experience needed for today’s job market. The trip will be open to rising juniors and seniors nominated by each academic college. Once nominated, the students will be paired with an organization, company or institution that best matches the student’s career interest.
The trip will provide students an opportunity to experience and engage with the local culture through excursions and activities. The students chosen will be enrolled in a Global Readiness Program to aid in their global competency and overall career readiness. Students will also get the chance to identify their strengths and apply them practically in their work.
