Summer is closer than it seems and, for some, graduation is right around the corner. Now is the time to be looking for summer jobs, internships, or even full-time positions to kickstart your career. LSU hosts networking and career events throughout the year to help students make connections and prepare for the future. Many of them take place at the end of the year. So, it’s time to print out resume copies, dress to impress and get ready to make connections.
Advertising and Communications Networking Fair – Wednesday, March 19
At this Networking Fair, communications students can learn about internships, part-time and full-time job opportunities from top communications companies in Louisiana and across the country. Employers include several local news stations, Lamar Advertising, Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys, Hearst Television, DAA Media + Marketing, Emergent Method consulting firm and more.

Opportunity Knocks Career Fair – Wednesday, April 9
Students from all majors are welcome to attend this career fair that offers internships, part-time and full-time positions from a range of industries. This is a great opportunity for graduating students to find full-time jobs. Employers include the Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions, the CIA, Savannah River National Laboratory, St. Landry Parish School Board, Coca-Cola UNITED and more. See the full list here.

School Professional Networking Day – Friday, April 11
For anyone looking for full-time jobs in education and school-based programs, this is an opportunity to meet professionals and employers in your desired field. Representatives from about 30 schools across Louisiana and Texas will be there to chat with and answer questions.
The event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the LSU Student Union Ballroom.
The Olinde Career Center is hosting a prep event from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on March 31 to prepare you for the Networking Day. Learn how to identify employers of interest, ask strategic questions and follow up afterward to make a strong connection.
