Baton Rouge is going green, and the city has many events planned out for St. Patrick’s Day.
Though the official holiday is set to take place on Monday, March 17, the city has a wide variety of festivities coming up this weekend to celebrate. From bar crawls with green beer to after parties featuring Sean Kingston, there are many ways to have some classic St. Patty’s Day fun.
Saturday, March 15
Parade Breakfast | La Divina
Looking for free parking and a delicious breakfast before any St. Patrick’s Day plans?
La Divina Italian Cafe is offering a wristband that includes access to its facilities all day with a purchase of a $35 ticket. This ticket also saves a seat for customers at its 8 a.m. breakfast, with unlimited beverages and free parking with security. Live music from Father Ron and Friends begins at 10 a.m.
Earlapalooza | Uncle Earl’s
Earlapalooza returns for its fifth year as the largest parade after party.
This 18+ event will not be postponed along with the parade, so grab your green and purchase tickets here to see Sean Kingston, The Chase Tyler Band and New Orleans Party Band Category 6. Doors open at 10 a.m. and performers begin at 1 p.m., with the event being held outside of Uncle Earl’s Bar at 3753 Perkins Road.
Bar Crawl | George’s Place
Join this lucky bar crawl to get free shots, cover and exclusive drink specials at the best bars in Baton Rouge. To attend the bar crawl at George’s Place, located at 800 Saint Louis Street, guests 21 and over can purchase tickets here. Enjoy cheer, friends and green beer from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., with the after party from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Green Party | Splash Nightclub
This 19th annual St. Patrick’s Day dance party will have you on your feet all night.
Splash Nightclub, located at 2183 Highland Road, will open its doors at 9 p.m. and the DJ will come on at 10 p.m., who will be followed by performances from Miss Thing and London Manchester. The event is 18+ and tickets are $10.
Sunday, March 16
St. Patrick’s Day Parade | Hundred Oaks
The Wearin’ of the Green St. Patrick’s Day parade will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year.
Due to the threat of a possible tornado watch, the parade will roll on Sunday, March 16 at 12 p.m. The parade begins at the Diocese of Baton Rouge, the Catholic Life Center, on South Acadian Thruway and Hundred Oaks, turns right on Eugene Street, then left on Terrace Blvd. and ends on Perkins Road. Over 80 floats are included in this family-friendly parade.
Shamrock Run | Wearin’ of the Green
The Wearin’ of the Green St. Patrick’s Day Parade puts on an annual 5K Shamrock Run, which kicks off at noon on Sunday. The parade will end at Moreau Physical Therapy where an after party will be held. Whether you decide to participate or just show up to support the runners, don’t forget to wear green.
Monday, March 17
St. Patrick’s Day Menu | The Queen
The limited-time only menu at The Queen, located at 1717 River Park Blvd, is leprechaun approved.
1717 Kitchen and Cocktails is located inside of The Queen Casino, and their menu consists of corned beef and cabbage, Irish beef stew, Guinness onion soup and Guinness chocolate cake. The menu prices range from $7 to $20 and the restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
