LSU Softball matched up with Kentucky on Saturday evening where it would be a back and forth matchup between the two schools coming down to the last out.
The game started off with Kentucky’s shortstop Cassie Reasner hitting a home run in the top of the 2nd inning to give Kentucky a 1-0 lead.
The Tigers would respond in the bottom of the 3rd inning when catcher Maci Bergeron would hit a three run home run to help the Tigers take the lead 3-1 going into the 4th inning against Kentucky.
In the top of the 5th inning Kentucky’s third baseman Ally Hutchins would hit a home run to cut the Tigers two run lead into one making the score 2-3. But, the Tigers would not wait to respond as in the bottom of the 5th inning Madyson Manning would ground out to the shortstop with bases loaded bringing a runner from third home going into the top of the 6th 4-2.
Kentucky would come up clutch right after in the top of 6th as Madyson Clark would hit an rbi double to tie the game up 4-4. However, the Tigers would respond in the bottom of the 6th as Tori Edwards would hit a two run home run giving the tigers a 6-4 lead in the bottom of the 6th.
The Tiger pitching would hold on in the top of the 7th and LSU would go on to win 6-4. The tigers would finish with nine hits and two errors while Kentucky finished with six hits and an error.
