It was a Tiger brawl in Alex Box Stadium as LSU would survive and defeat Missouri score- score.
Within the first two innings, LSU would be rack up three runs with the help of Outfielder Josh Pearson hitting a two-run home run into right field and an RBI from Infielder Michael Braswell III.
However, it only took a couple at bats for Missouri to get out of their slump. Missouri Outfielder Pierre Seals would add the Tigers’ first run on the board in the top of the third inning, and Infielder Keegan Knutson would hit a bomb into left center field, resulting in a three run home run. Missouri was leading 4-3 midway through the fourth inning.
At this moment, everyone in Alex Box Stadium stood in silence, as they knew that this wasn’t going to be an easy game for their home team and was going to be a brawl, a tiger brawl.
LSU knew it too, but with the help of Shortstop Steven Milam’s run and First Baseman Jared Jones’ monster hit into right field, the Tigers were able to score three more runs in the fourth inning and one more in the fifth, creating another lead change in the game.
In the fifth inning, LSU’s Braswell would single one into left field which would add to LSU’s lead. Despite the Tigers leading 7-4, Missouri would catch up to the lead, adding two more runs to close out the seventh inning.
By the eighth inning, LSU was down to their fifth pitcher of the night and would close the game with Freshman Casan Evans. Evans, who had four strikeouts, was the key player for the Tigers to help put away Missouri.
