LSU Baseball took on University of New Orleans in an in-state matchup that would see the Tigers showcase their pitching depth as well as their talented hitters.
In the top of the first inning UNO would strike first and fast with a RBI single by Bryan Lorgia. Giving UNO a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
The Tigers quickly bounced back as Jared Jones would go on to hit a home run to tie the game 1-1 in the bottom of the first inning.
The Tigers would then go on to dominate for the rest of the game on both of the field. Jaden Noot, who made his first start for LSU Baseball would go on to hold UNO to zero runs after the first inning. Noot would go on to pitch four innings giving up four hits, one run, and had five strikeouts.
In the bottom of the third inning LSU would start to pull away from UNO even more. Catcher Cade Arrambide would hit a two run home run giving the Tigers a 4-1 lead. Jared Jones in the same inning would also drive in a run off an rbi single and Josh Pearson would bring a run in off a walk with bases loaded.
Leading 6-1 in the bottom of the 5th inning Ethan Frey pinch hit for Josh Pearson and hit a three run home run extending the tiger lead to 9-1. But Ethan was not done. In the bottom of the seventh inning with the Tigers up 10-1 Ethan would hit a solo home run, his second of the game and would enforce the ten run rule to end the game.
Ethan Frey finished with two home runs and four RBIs while his teammate Jared Jones who also had a great game at the plate finished with four hits, one home run, and three RBIs.
