Fire officials responded to an issue in Patrick F. Taylor Hall Monday morning as students and staff evacuated the building.
The issue was caused by a belt on an air handler, Executive Director of Facility and Property Oversight Tammy Millican told the Reveille. The broken belt began smoking, prompting the call to the Fire Department. Facility Services replaced the belt and no more maintenance is required.
Students and staff were allowed back into the building around 8 a.m. according to WBRZ.
