We went to the parade grounds to compare former LSU Football players and their skills to current LSU students and their skills. Let’s find out if we are jumping to conclusions or if these students can make a late jump onto the NFL draft board.
“I would give it five feet,” former Southern University Basketball Player Diamond Hunter said.
“I am going to give myself the benefit of the doubt and say five,” Environmental Management Systems Major Peter Opdenbosch said.
Malik Nabers jumped 10 feet, nine inches in the broad jump during his LSU Pro Day in 2024.
“I think I might go all the way,” Former High School Football Player Jalan Earvin said.
During our Pro Day, none of our competitors jumped further than nine feet with an average of eight feet.
“I have to give props to myself; shout out Malik Nabers,” Opdenbosch said.
Jayden Daniels’ long ball helped draw the eyes of NFL scouts last March before the Commanders drafted him second overall in April.
Although the student’s passes were not perfect, they tried their best to throw a pass 50 yards.
Meanwhile, precise footwork helped former LSU Safety Jamal Adams boost his drafted stock. The New York Jets drafted Adams sixth overall in 2017.
I am out a year [of playing basketball], so I would say seven out of 10,” Hunter said.
Although the student’s footwork is not perfect, Jamal Adams might have some competition.
“I can play every position you need me to play, and I know I will make the team because of confidence and how I play,” Earvin said.
With the talent we just saw, maybe the perfect place for NFL scouts to find their next star play is right here on the LSU parade grounds.
