LSU Women’s Basketball advances in the NCAA tournament and is heading to the Sweet 16 after a 30-point win against the Florida State Seminoles with a final of 101-71.
FSU was able to keep it close for the first half with Ta’Niya Latson leading the game with 23 points, but after the team’s return to the court the team got sloppy with four players having 3 or more personal fouls.
Anessah Morrow, Sa’Myah Smith and Mikaylah Williams all racking in over 20 points allowing some younger bench players to get some action.
Smith led the team in rebounds, Williams in scoring and Morrow brought in her final game in the PMAC with 26 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and only two turnovers.
Monday’s win ties off the most home wins in program history with 19 wins under the PMAC lights.
The message Flau’jae Johnson told the media on Saturday was that it takes everybody. Coach Mulkey echoed Johnson’s by saying they aren’t taking the Sweet 16 for granted, this is a big moment for this squad and they’re ready for whatever gets thrown at them.
They will head to Spokane Tuesday, to prepare for NC State. The Wolfpack and Tigers have met before but this team is better than they were last time they faced off.
