International Waffle Day was celebrated on Tuesday in the United States. What started out as a religious holiday became something more when it made its way to America.
Baton Rouge offers many places to have the breakfast and brunch you could have but I have the top three spots that people in the city love.
Coming in at number one we have the Ruby Slipper Cafe. They are best known for their Southern-styled waffles topped with fruit powdered sugar and sometimes an order of fried chicken.
They have been a staple in the Baton Rouge community for 17 years.
Next up at number two, we have Louie’s Cafe. This Baton Rouge classic is serving up some of the best traditional waffles in the city.
Finally, we have Waffle House. They are coming in with their most popular all-star meal, which you can pair with perfectly cooked waffle
Speaking with Waffle House worker, Bee Augustus, she tells us why you should go out and celebrate this day.
“People should go out and celebrate cause it is always fun to be with your family and enjoy waffles, especially the waffles here” Augustus said.
Whether you are stacking it up at home or enjoying your day at any of the breakfast places in Baton Rouge, have a waffly time while doing it.
