LSU Freshman Remi Landry has recently been crowned Miss LSU 2025. Landry is from Friendswood, Texas and is majoring in mass communication with a concentration in law. She is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority here at LSU.
Despite her limited experience in the pageant world, she was able to secure the crown beating out 42 other contestants. Landry says that she wasn’t as nervous as she was excited prior to the pageant.
This year’s Miss LSU was held in the Union Theater on March 23rd. This event was hosted by Delta Zeta and raised over $90,000 for charity.
When asked about a woman who inspires her, Landry was not hesitant to say her mother. She said that her mom is her role model and that she inspired her to get her pilates instructor certification just like her mom.
“As Miss LSU, my goal is to inspire confidence in all of those around me, especially in the children. I feel like in the younger generation, if you start them early on really being their most authentic self and not letting society kind of define them in a way that they don’t want to be defined, they’ll grow up not having to go through the hardship of trying to fit in the cookie cutter mold of society. So, just growing in that confidence and just being yourself, I think, is truly one of the best things you can learn in life,” Landry said.
Landry hopes to accomplish a lot during her reign as Miss LSU and looks up to Nikhia Sims, Miss LSU 2024, as inspiration in embarking on this new chapter.
