Spring break is the time of year where students pile in their friends’ cars and migrate towards the beach, hoping to take in some long awaited sun.
One of the most popular destinations for a college student’s spring break is in Pensacola, Florida, home to the famous venue Flora-Bama, located at 17401 Perdido Key Drive, Pensacola. Few Blue, a band of LSU alumni, will be taking on the Flora-Bama stages for four nights from April 3 to April 6.
The Flora-Bama venue was specifically picked out by the group, knowing that a majority of its patrons would come from Baton Rouge that week. Lead singer Camryn Wisniewski, drummer Rob Schexnayder, guitarist Brad Boozer and bassist Christian Liang will perform the crowd’s favorite rock hits from the 1970s.
“We were looking for new venues to play out bigger, better shows,” Wisniewski said.
Few Blue began its musical journey in 2022, while they were students at LSU. From being a smaller college band performing at bars like Uncle Earl’s to traveling around the South, the band has expanded its reach beyond LSU’s campus. Since graduating, Few Blue has travelled to and from shows in New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
Flora-Bama is not an easy venue to book, Wisniewski said. In May 2024, the singer had to perform separately from the band as part of an audition to get Few Blue a foot inside the door. After getting the thumbs up, the group had its first performance in July 2024 and has even played a few shows in between.

Not only is the band able to go to Florida, but Flora-Bama also provides the group with housing across the street and other perks while they perform next week. Wisniewski said accommodations like these make it easier for Few Blue to expand its reach.
“Obviously we still have to work in some capacity, but, you know, it’s fun work,” Schexnayder said.
Few Blue will play at Flora-Bama on April 3 in the Main Room from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., April 4 in the Main Room from 10:15 p.m. to 2:15 a.m., April 5 on the Tent Stage from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. and April 6 on the Dome Stage from 10:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.
For those who can’t make the band’s spring break shows, Few Blue has plenty of opportunities lined up in the next few months where fans can catch them live. Few Blue will be at the Gretna Food Truck Festival on April 19, Murphy’s on Cinco de Mayo, Brewsky’s in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on June 7 and many other shows that can be found on its website here.
