The Lady Tigers will advance to 31-2 overall after a successful evening against South Carolina.
Head Coach Beth Torina attributes the Tigers’ win tonight to coming out strong and scoring first.
“This team has a knack for scoring first, and they did a good job setting a good tone,” Torina said.
The Tigers are 6-1 in conference play and remain undefeated at home. The Tigers’ offense tonight was strong, as pitcher Sydney Berzon pitched four scoreless innings.
“My staff does such a good job preparing them. So much information and such a good week of prep,” Torina said.
Despite an hour-long weather delay, the Tigers didn’t miss a beat and they beat South Carolina in the fifth inning with the mercy rule.
“Maybe [the rain] helped. They were singing and dancing, and maybe they enjoyed it,” Torina said.
LSU will take on the Gamecocks again at Tiger Park on Saturday, March 29 at 6 p.m. CST.
