LSU edge rusher Braydn Swinson is heading to the NFL after being drafted by the New England Patriots with the 146th overall pick in the 5th round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Swinson started his college career with the Oregon Ducks as a freshman in 2020 and spent three seasons there before transferring to LSU. At LSU, he blossomed into an every-down player off the edge.
Swinson tallied 8.5 sacks in the 2024 season, three of them against South Carolina and another two against Ole Miss. He also recorded 58 combined solo and assists, which led the Tigers’ defensive front last season.
After his breakout senior season, he earned an invite to the East-West Shrine Bowl, where he turned the heads of NFL scouts.
Swinson recorded 10.5 sacks, 93 total tackles and four forced fumbles in his two seasons at LSU.
