Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso spoke to the media after defeating the Brazil National Team in their WNBA Exhibition Game.
Both returning Sky players dominated on both ends of the ball with Reese finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Cardoso with 6 points and 8 rebounds.
The PMAC wasn’t unfamiliar territory for either Cardoso or Reese, and their performances on Friday night proved that familiarity.
For Cardoso, she had the opportunity to play against her country’s national team, a team she’s been a dominant force for in her time as a player.
“I think the younger girls did a great job, this is an amazing opportunity for them,” Cardoso said. “They came out here and showed everybody what they are capable of doing and I’m super proud of all of them.”
Reese has been joined on the Sky by her former LSU teammate Hailey Van Lith, who was recently drafted as the No. 11 overall pick in the WNBA Draft.
“Being able to come out, and just see her thrive, I’m just super happy for her,” Reese said. “Her confidence has gone through the roof and just being able to see the player she is now and continuing to grow into…I know she’s just going to continue to get better every day.”
Van Lith showed her selflessness and ability to create opportunities for her teammates in her professional debut, finishing with seven points, five assists and three rebounds.
