Former LSU women’s basketball player and WNBA star Angel Reese traded in the court for the runway as she made history as the first pro athlete to walk in the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The show aired on Wednesday, October 15, in New York, where Reese was joined on the catwalk by supermodels such as Gigi Hadid, Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, Ashley Graham, Barbara Palvin Sprouse, and more.
Reese announced she would be walking in the show in a post on Instagram: “Stepping into a dream: From Angel to a Victoria’s Secret ANGEL… I’m finally getting my wings.”
Matching her nickname “Bayou Barbie,” Reese appeared in a pink floral set with cutouts and a pink VS lace set with a cropped baby tee over the top while donning a pair of iconic white lace VS angel wings.
Reese led the 2023 women’s basketball team to a national championship victory under head coach Kim Mulkey and was drafted to the WNBA in 2024, joining the Chicago Sky.
Reese made a post on X (formerly Twitter) following the show that said, “That walk so NASTY.”
Fashion designer Law Roach said in an interview with Extra TV that he was most looking forward to seeing Angel Reese. “It’s so important to realize that when you really work hard and you see it and you believe it, it can happen, and I think she’s a testament to that. She’s a superstar,” Roach said.
Musical acts also included performers like Madison Beer, Missy Elliott, Karol G, and Twice.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show streamed on YouTube and now currently has over 13 million views.
