LSU Volleyball was swept in 3 sets against No. 2 Texas on Sunday afternoon in the PMAC.
The outcome of the match does not reflect the grit and performance of the Tigers in sets one (27-25) and two (25-21). LSU put up a fight up until the end, but their lack of mental strength led to their demise.
In set three, the Longhorns got their offense rolling and quickly pulled away, 25-18.
Despite the loss, Nia Washington had a stand-out performance. She ended the match leading in kills (18) and had 4 digs.
It comes with no surprise that Jurnee Robinson also had 10 kills and led the team in digs (7).
Cari Spears and Torrey Stafford had a combined 26 kills, 17 digs and 4 blocks for the Longhorns.
Ayden Ames for Texas and Jessica Jones for LSU both had team highs of three blocks.
The Tigers are now 3-7 in conference play, but they will have a chance to snap their losing streak against Mississippi State on Friday, October 31, in the PMAC.
