Former LSU baseball player Kramer Robertson, son of women’s head basketball coach Kim Mulkey, is stepping up to the plate to fundraise money for cancer with the help of a few Manship School PR students.
Throughout the month of November, nine local men will put down their razors and support patient care and cancer research at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Baton Rouge during the Geaux Grizzly Challenge. Each guy will grow out their beards and raise money to compete for the Grizzliest Guy 2025, which will be awarded to the top fundraiser.
Robertson was a shortstop at LSU from 2014 to 2017. He says this experience has been a special one for him after all the love LSU and Baton Rouge have shown to him and his family.
“I think everybody in some way has been affected by cancer, and if I could just be a small part in raising some money to help save a life one day, then that means a lot to me,” Robertson said.
Kramer will be hosting a giveback at Murphy’s on Chimes on Friday, Nov. 21, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., where 50% of the cover will be donated to the fundraiser.
