It’s been a little less than a week, but LSU football head coach Lane Kiffin is already building a top notch defensive staff for the upcoming 2026 season.

LSU is expected to hire Elijah Robinson from Syracuse as its next defensive line coach and will retain defensive back coach Corey Raymond, edge rushers coach Kelvin Peoples and safety coach Jake Olsen.

Robinson, who spent the past two seasons at Syracuse as the associate head coach and defensive coordinator, is known for recruiting elite caliber players on the defensive line and was a huge part of Texas A&M’s success up front between 2018-2023.

A deal with Robinson is expected soon after he was in LSU’s football operations building Friday; however, the terms are unknown.

This new hire along with retaining coaches like Raymond, Peoples, Olsen and now Blake Baker will be huge for the Tigers moving forward ahead of the 2026 season.

With Robinson’s elite recruiting and having experienced staff on the defensive side, LSU will be a team to watch ahead of next season.
