As No. 2 LSU gymnastics enters its fourth week of the NCAA gymnastics season, it’s taking the SEC Gymnast of the Week title with it once again.
The award belongs to all-around sophomore Kailin Chio, who earned the accolade for the second time this year. Chio was named SEC Gymnast of the Week after LSU’s first competition this season, where it appeared in the Sprout’s Market Collegiate Quad at the start of January.
The title comes as no surprise following Chio’s performance against Kentucky on Friday night, where she scored a 39.7750 in the all-around, following her perfect 10 earned on the balance beam.
Chio’s all-around score places as the second-highest in the nation, trailing just behind UCLA’s Jordan Chies with a 39.875.
As the competition keeps rolling, Chio is now moving forward with 30 career titles, seven of which were racked up in 2026. Continue to expect great things from this standout sophomore as she joins her team in Columbia, Missouri, to take on No. 7 Mizzou this Friday.
