LSU star alum Flau’jae Johnson will be taking her talents to Seattle after being drafted No. 8 in the 2026 WNBA Draft by San Francisco.
Gasps in the crowd at The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York City as, to start the second round of the draft, WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert announced the trade. Flau’jae Johnson for Marta Suarez and Seattle’s 2028 WNBA 2nd round draft pick.
Johnson joins Sonia Raman’s team in the Emerald City. The Seattle Storm made the playoffs in 2025 but were eliminated by the Las Vegas Aces. Expectations are only set to increase as they now added Johnson to their squad.
After spending four years at LSU, Johnson is now set to continue her legacy in professional basketball.
With the Tigers, Johnson averaged 14.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting 46.5% from the field.
Johnson is one of LSU Women’s Basketball’s most memorable alums in program history, as she helped the Tigers win their first NCAA National Championship in 2023.
She was part of an impressive run where LSU qualified for the Sweet Sixteen four years in a row.
