It’s make-or-break time for many LSU teams as seasons are coming to an end. Three LSU teams will fight for championships this weekend, while two will host games on campus.
LSU Baseball, which is looking to bounce back in SEC play after a disappointing sweep last week in Oxford. The Tigers will face the No.10 Texas A&M Aggies, who have four wins in a row against conference rivals. A&M is coming off an impressive performance, winning the series against the No. 2 Texas Longhorns last week.
With exactly one month left before the regular season is over, the Tigers must start summing up wins in conference play. LSU is 6-9 against teams in the SEC.
Moving on to LSU Softball, the team led by coach Beth Torina is facing the Ole Miss Rebels at Tiger Park. Despite having a 6-8 record in conference play, the No.15 Tigers are coming off an impressive weekend where they won the series against the #12 Arizona Wildcats. The team will look to strengthen its record to continue climbing in the S-E-C standings.
On the other hand, the Rebels are second-to-last in the conference with a record of 2 wins and 13 losses. The regular season is also coming to an end, with only three more weeks of games before the SEC championship.
After facing Ole Miss, LSU will have Mississippi State and Auburn.
The LSU Women’s and Men’s Tennis teams are competing this week at the SEC championship.
The No. 9 Women’s Team is playing in Norman, Oklahoma. The team won in the first round 4-0 against Missouri. On the second round they defeated the No. 8 Tennessee Volunteers in the second round. On Friday, they will face the No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners in the quarterfinals.
Seeded inside the top 3 is the Men’s Team, who are playing against Georgia in the semifinals. The team has the momentum on their side, and they are focused on winning the Championship.
LSU Soccer will have its only home spring game this Saturday, when they play against Northwestern State at the LSU Soccer Complex. They will finish their preparation for the fall next week when travelling to Lafayette, where they will face ULL and Houston.
