Coming off a win against the Northwestern Devils, LSU Baseball was hoping to finally gain some traction in the SEC in their against #9 Texas A&M on Friday Night, but the Aggies took down the Tigers 10-4.

Right-Handed Pitcher Casan Evans was simply on fire to start the game. He had five strikeouts in the first couple innings and it looked like it was just going to be a pitching battle, but Evans seemed to run out of gas allowing six runs.

LSU Baseball Head Coach Jay Johnson that Evans did all he could on the field.

“I thought Casan competed well in the game. He got a little tired. WE got to make the play in the first inning. It takes nine or ten more pitches to get off the field.”

LSU showed some life in the fourth inning coming from a huge home run from Shortstop Steven Milam, but this glimmer of hope would soon vanish as Texas A&M would quickly answer back.

Johnson explains where he believes everything went wrong for LSU.

“They’re a really good offensive team. We were like two outs and two strikes. We just couldn’t get off the field.”

The most glaring stat of this matchup was hits to runs. The difference between LSU and Texas A&M was one team was able to turn hits into runs and one wasn’t.

The LSU Tigers hope to tie the series against the Texas A&M Aggies Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Alex Box Stadium.
