In Oconee County, Georgia, three brothers grew up in a household full of competition. Way before these young men wore purple and gold, David and Erin raised West, Whit, and Zach Weeks in an environment where football and family would help shape their futures.
When speaking about her family and spending time together, Erin Weeks said that her sons love to be outdoors. Whether that meant going to the beach, hunting, or throwing rocks into the river, being together while staying active was always very important for them. These moments together built not only their athleticism but also a close family bond.
“Their love for each other, no matter how many accolades one of them gets, it doesn’t matter to them, and that’s what’s so cool,” David Weeks said.
Though they played multiple sports throughout their childhood, football became their passion. Their father, David Weeks, was a former college football player himself at the University of Georgia.
He later coached his sons throughout their high school career, where they all gained national attention from some of the top schools in the country.
West, the oldest, transferred to LSU in 2022 after previously playing for Virginia. Then, after him, Whit started to look into multiple different colleges but decided to take his talents and join his brother in Baton Rouge.
A couple of years later, Zach reclassified and graduated early and was able to join them at LSU, where they went to make history in Death Valley, as they became the first set of three brothers to play on the field at the same time.
After finishing his last season at LSU, West attended Pro Day, where he ran a 4.50-second 40-yard dash.
Once he finished his sprint, his brothers rushed to his side, celebrating the result of their hard work and dedication. In the crowd, David watched proudly, cheering on his son and sharing the moment of his achievement.
“They would just back and forth, race, so I said, ‘You have been training for this your whole life, and look what you just did at your Pro Day,’” Erin Weeks stated.
Although he was not invited to the combine, West is still hoping to hear his name called in the NFL Draft, continuing the pipeline of NFLSU.
The NFL Draft will be on Thursday, April 23, at 7:00 PM CT.
Meanwhile, Whit and Zach look ahead to their upcoming season, where they will take the field under a new coaching staff joined by many new teammates.
No matter where their sons go, Erin and David said that they are full of love and support every step of the way.
