Former LSU Football Head Coach Ed Orgeron is making his return to the program as a part of Lane Kiffin’s staff. This time the Larose, LA native will serve as the team’s special assistance to recruiting and defense.
Lane Kiffin spoke about why he made the decision to bring Coach O back to the Boot, as well as what expertise he brings.
“I’m excited to bring Coach Orgeron back to LSU,” Kiffin said in a statement.
“He brings us tremendous value with his ability to recruit elite players nationally, but especially the impact he can have for us recruiting the great state of Louisiana. Coach O understands my expectations and commitment to being a championship program. I look forward to seeing him with recruits and his intensity working with our defensive players.”
The fan-favorite coach led LSU to their historic 15-0 National Championship season in 2019 and spent nearly six years as the leader of the Tigers.
