The Basement is the place to jam out to all things punk, emo, and indie rock—sounds that were born in a basement and thrive there still today. Listen only on 91.1 KLSU Baton Rouge.
Punk Goes Pop was a series of compilation albums by record company Fearless Records, in which alternative, pop-punk, post-hardcore, and metalcore bands of the 2000s and 2010s covered Top 40 pop songs. The broader Punk Goes… franchise featured a wider range of covers from classic rock to hip hop. More recently, Hopeless Records has released its Songs That Saved My Life project, where artists share covers of songs that helped them through difficult times. This playlist takes the best of these two iconic bodies of work and combines them with the cover song gems hidden in some of your favorite alternative artists’ discographies.
