Former LSU outfielder and Louisiana native Jake Brown was drafted No. 65 overall by the Seattle Mariners in the second round of the 2026 MLB Draft on Saturday.
The Sulfur, Louisiana native played three seasons at LSU, earning himself a career .304 average across 162 games played. Prior to an injury that left him benched for the second half of the 2026 season, Brown led the Tigers in home runs with 16 on the year.
Brown helped propel the Tigers to their 2025 National Championship win. During the 2025 College World Series, Brown led the team with a .385 batting average, with four RBI and two runs scored.
Brown will join former LSU teammate Kade Anderson in the Mariners organization. Brown is the second Tiger to be taken so far in the 2026 MLB Draft.
