In 2012, Kendrick Lamar delivered what many music fans would consider the best hip-hop album of 2012. It was “good kid, m.A.A.d city” that propelled Lamar to global fame and tracks such as “Poetic Justic” and “Swimming Pools” were performed on the Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Lamar performed last year in Baton Rouge at the Varsity Theatre to a sold out show and had support from Black Hippy label-mates Jay Rock and Ab-Soul. Producer/MC and Hip-Hop legend Mannie Fresh made an appearance giving praise to Lamar as “the future of Hip-Hop.”
What to expect: Kendrick Lamar will ride it out in New Orleans as he is expected to perform a majority of tracks from “good kid, m.A.A.d city.” Also expect songs from both “Overly Addicted” and “Section.80” as Lamar frequently bring out blasts from the past.
