Blue skies, blooming flowers, warm air with a perfect breeze, yes, spring break is just around the corner! Whether you’re staying in Baton Rouge during the break or heading to the beach, here are a few must-have fashion items for spring.
Sun Dress
Nothing says spring like a flowing sun dress! Sun dresses are great almost any outing from a casual walk on the beach to a night out on the town. To go along with the spring theme, try to go for the light, bright pastel colors. Also, when looking for the right style, a sun dress with a skinny belt to help accentuate the figure is the best way to go. Forever 21 is one of the best places to find cheap, yet stylish, sun dresses.
Bright bottoms
Take a risk with your skinny jeans and shorts. Instead of the usual blue jeans, try bright yellow, baby blue, or even fuchsia bottoms. Also, don’t be afraid to try floral or tribal prints (just not all at once!). Pac Sun currently has a few sales on their wide selection of shorts.
Peplum
Whether it’s a peplum top or a peplum dress, make sure you have this style in your closet this spring! Peplum styles range from casual to formal, however, with this look, the formal styles are usually better. Also, just like the sun dresses, you can’t go wrong with accessorizing this look with a skinny belt. This is a great option for those of you celebrating Easter this Sunday! Check out Shop Style for many different affordable peplum styles.
Swimwear
If you’re hitting the beach for spring break, but it’s too cold to jump into the ocean, you may just want to lie on the sand and soak up the sun, which is definitely reason enough to rock a cute bathing suit. One of the biggest swimwear trends of the year is vintage swimsuits. Usually the vintage swimsuits are simply two-pieces with bottoms that have a higher waist. There are also vintage one-piece swimsuits that tend to fit like boy shorts towards the bottom. Mod Cloth has a wide variety of vintage swimsuits at reasonable prices. Don’t be afraid to mix and match tops and bottoms as well.
