As the air gets warmer, there’s almost no better way to spend your weekend than at a music festival or outdoor concert. Luckily, we have great acts coming to our area for this weekend’s Groovin’ on the Grounds, as well as at Jazz Fest in New Orleans later this month. This week’s Frugal Fashionista is all about the must-have fashion accessories for a night out at a great show.
Graphic Tee
At a concert, you can never go wrong with fun graphic tee. These tees are casual enough to be comfortable, but can still be stylish. Also, graphic tees tend to be lighter which can be a great help in warmer weather. Try finding a graphic tee that showcases your favorite artist or band that’s performing at the concert or music festival. Both Hot Topic and Urban Outfitters have a great assortment of graphic tees for reasonable prices.
Studded Shorts
Since you’ll be at the concert for hours, comfort is key! Also, as mentioned, the weather is warmer, so you’ll also want to steer clear long pants. That’s where the shorts come in! Whether you prefer beads or spikes, studded shorts are a bold alternative to simple blue jean shorts. House of Fraser is currently carrying a pair of spike studded shorts (on sale) for just $23! You can get the pair in both black and denim light wash.
Cross Body Handbag
Over the shoulder purses can be a hassle when all you want to do is jump around and dance. So, if you want to be able to carry all of your personal items without as much trouble, a cross body bag is the best way to go. Try this $13 Yaam Thai bag found on Etsy or check out the fringe bags at Wet Seal, here.
Shoes
As if it needs to be said, whatever shoes are chosen for the concert, make sure they are flat! This doesn’t necessarily mean ballet flat style shoes. You can go with anything from Converse sneakers to TOMS to flat sandals. However, if you can’t spend $50+ on a pair of shoes, look no further than Charlotte Russe! They have a wide selection of affordable flats and sandals that are still stylish.
