Update 11/20: Monday’s robberies are still under investigation, and no new information has been released.
Three separate armed robberies were reported late Monday night by LSU’s emergency text service.
LSU Police Department spokesman Capt. Cory Lalonde was only able to confirm that a weapon was pulled in the first incident at the intersection of Highland Road and Raphael Semmes Road. LSU’s emergency text service notified students of the incident around 11:17 p.m.
Lalonde said the suspect, a 6-foot-3-inch, slender man wearing a gray hoodie and traveling in a white four-door sedan, approached the victim on foot and asked the victim for their phone and wallet.
The second incident, reported around 11:47 p.m. on State Street, was being handled by the Baton Rouge Police Department, which reported a similar suspect to the first robbery, leading LSUPD to believe the crimes were related, Lalonde said.
A man matching the original suspect’s description robbed another person in the Hart Lot, near Kirby Smith Hall. Lalonde said a second suspect got out of the sedan and third suspect was seen driving the car.
At press time, LSUPD had not arrested a suspect.
One victim was a confirmed LSU student by a Daily Reveille staff member.
