Coyote Blues: Grilled Shrimp Tacos
Price: $9.99 for two tacos and two sides
Presentation: Presentation was a bit sloppy with the shrimp and lettuce overflowing from inside the soft shell.
Taste: Although the pico de gallo and jalapeños give the taco a rather intense kick, the chipotle aioli provides the perfect juiciness. With no shortage of plump, sweet shrimp, Coyote Blues has practically perfected Mexican seafood.

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop: Crawfish Baja Taco
Price: $5.65 for two tacos but no rice or beans; only restaurant without complimentary chips and salsa
Presentation: Presentation leaves something to be desired with feta cheese crumbles everywhere.
Taste: The fried crawfish tails taste more like fried chicken with too much batter. The garlic sauce and cilantro, however, give the taco a distinctive taste and take away from its dryness. Although it’s covered with a little too much feta, it’s still a tasty taco.

Caliente Mexican Craving: Chicken Taco
Price: $9.81 for three tacos, rice and beans; overall, best bang for your buck.
Presentation: The chicken is drowning in shredded mozzarella cheese, but the hard shells keep the tacos in tact.
Taste: Although the chicken is juicy, the absence of tomatoes makes the taco taste rather bland. The combination of cheese, chicken and lettuce in a hard shell creates a rather dry taco, lacking any real kick of flavor.

Zippy’s Burritos Tacos and More: Beef Taco
Price: $6.92 for two tacos, rice and beans; best lunch special
Presentation: Rice and beans served on the side in cups, with the tacos holding together nicely in hard shells.
Taste: The meat-to-toppings ratio is ideal. Although the ground beef is a bit overcooked, the sweetness from the pico de gallo and corn make up for it. With fast service and an outdoor patio, it’s no wonder why Zippy’s is a Baton Rouge favorite.
