Every week, The Daily Reveille readers will get a chance to meet a member of our hard-working staff with the Staffer of the Week spotlight.
Editor-in-Chief Kevin Thibodeaux will choose each Staffer of the Week.
The new Staffer of the Week is Alix Landriault!
1. Name:
Alix René Landriault
2. Major:
Mass Communication, focus in Journalism
Minors: Political Science and Religious Studies
3. What do you do for TDR and how long have you been on the staff:
My first semester (second semester Freshman year) I was a videographer, the next Fall and Spring semesters I was Multimedia Editor, and this semester I am an Opinion Columnist and a Videographer.
4. What has been the most memorable story you’ve ever worked on for TDR:
The best part of one of my videos wasn’t the story itself, but the experience I had while filming it. At an animal preserve in Ethel, La, a 5-month-old kangaroo hopped across some long grass into my lap; it was magical. I also got to hang out with a kinkajou and a cockatoo that raved about coffee.
Bonus: What’s the title of the last movie you watched? Did you enjoy it?
A few weeks ago I watched “The Land Before Time.” I hadn’t seen it in probably 15 years, and I was amused to find that it was made for when people had square televisions. Also, it made me realize I’ve been loving James Horner’s soundtracks for a very long time. The movie itself was as great as I remembered it (which is quite an accomplishment for childhood movies), and it still made me tear up.
