Student Government passed a resolution Wednesday night to thank the University’s Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission of
Colleges and Quality Enhancement Plan team.
SACS-COC is responsible for the reaffirmation of the University’s accreditation standing. The process of reaffirmation of the University’s
accreditation has been a long process that is set to conclude by December 2014, according to the resolution.
While the SACS-COC is responsible for the accreditation of the University, QEP is a plan to “improve student learning or the learning environment on campus” in the five years following the reaffirmation of the University’s accreditation status, according to the resolution.
In addition to the resolution, new SG senators were sworn in to office.
Senators were also assigned to the new committees they will serve on throughout the remainder of this semester.
