A year-and-a-half ago, vocalist/guitarist Shayley Bourget abruptly split with metalcore act Of Mice & Men to pursue his side project, Dayshell. Bourget and his bandmates released their debut single “Share with Me” on Sumerian Records this week. No longer having to share the microphone with an unclean vocalist, Bourget makes the song his own. Though Bourget doesn’t showcase the height of his vocal range in “Share with Me,” his voice still possesses the same ambient quality that brought him fame. While the instrumentation seems to be lacking force at certain times, the riff accompanying the verses will definitely induce some headbanging. It’s a track that will grow on most, and the idea of Bourget singing on a full-length record should be enough to get fans excited for the upcoming debut album.
