LSU junior forward Johnny O’Bryant III has played his last game in purple and gold, according to a WAFB report late Monday night.
The report says O’Bryant’s high school coach, Leroy Cotton, told Greenville, MS-based WXVT television station that O’Bryant will skip his senior season at LSU and enter the NBA Draft.
Cotton said O’Bryant spent the weekend at home in Mississippi with his family, where he came to the decision. LSU has a “player announcement” slated for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
A back-to-back First Team All-Southeastern Conference selection, O’Bryant led the Tigers with 15.5 points per game this season — up from a 13.6 points per game clip last season.
O’Bryant toyed with the notion of declaring for the NBA Draft after last season, but announced at a press conference he would return to Baton Rouge for his junior season.
