Deandra De Napoli was crowned Miss LSU 2014 this Sunday.
This was the first time De Napoli had ever competed in a pageant. She didn’t expect to be crowned.
““I honestly didn’t fully accept it at first. I was like this isn’t real, this isn’t happening, I’ve never done a pageant before. I went in expecting to just gain some good experience,” said De Napoli.
De Napoli competed in swimsuit, evening gown, on stage question and interview. To prep for the pageant she researched Louisiana state politics and LSU student government.
De Napoli is a senior at LSU. She is studying public relations and business. She plans on attending law school when she graduates this December.
For now, De Napoli looks forward to her reign as Miss LSU.
“I’m most looking forward to getting more involved on campus and to be able to go to things and be an important public figure, and to be able to help people and set a good example for others,” said De Napoli.
