Man unaffiliated with University arrested for DWI
An LSU Police Department officer noticed a dark pickup truck slowly traveling south on Highland Road and swerving into the other lane at 4:12 a.m. on April 22, said LSUPD spokesman Capt. Cory Lalonde.
The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and after talking to the driver, Jordan L. Ziler, 21, of 504 Orangewood Drive, the officer noticed several signs of intoxication.
Ziler refused to take the standardized field sobriety test and also refused to take a chemical test after being transported to LSUPD, Lalonde said.
Ziler admitted to investigators he took narcotics before his arrest, but did not specify what type. He also told investigators the narcotics were causing him to hallucinate during questioning, Lalonde said.
Baton Rouge EMS transported Ziler to the nearest hospital. When released, Ziler was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for DWI and improper lane usage.

LSUPD released a Help Identify email with a still frame of Tezeno, which prompted Tezeno to turn himself in, Lalonde said.
Two suspects unaffiliated with University arrested for stealing two weed eaters from Landscape Services
LSUPD officers arrested Christopher Byron Scaife, 40, Eddie Robinson Sr. Drive, and Pamela Jean De La Luz, 37, 2608 Jeanerette Road, on April 25 for stealing two weedwackers from the University’s Landscape Services, Lalonde said.
On April 25, at 1:31 p.m., LSUPD received a complaint from Landscape Services, who said two weedwackers were stolen from the side of Highland Road.
Lalonde said the complainants gave investigators a description of two suspects and a description of the pickup truck the suspects were driving.
Officers pulled over a pickup truck matching the witness’s description later in the day and noticed two weedwackers in the bed of the truck.
Officers questioned the trucks’ two occupants, Scaife and Luz, who admitted to stealing the weedwackers. Scaife and Luz were both wanted by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Department for outstanding warrants, Lalonde said.
Scaife and Luz were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for felony theft and outstanding warrants.
