Student Government modified its budget for the upcoming fiscal year of 2014-15.
In the budget, the estimated revenues from student fees will be $115,487.70. Changes were made to the executive operational expenses from $2,000 to $1,800. SG decided to decrease the election board notification part of the fund from $1,000 to $800. SG used this money to notify students about voting through fliers and banners. Members decided to cut down the cost because they didn’t use all of the money in the most recent elections.
The presidential contingency and vice presidential contingency was increased by $500 each. Chair of Budget and Appropriations Committee Adam Grashoff said the increase would be used to transfer money to other areas of SG.
The general legislative contingency also decreased from $28,292.10 to $27,987.70. This contingency is based on enrollment numbers.
The constituent’s notifications budget decreased from $6,000 to $4,000. This fund is used for SG to let students know about the different projects they conduct.
They also increased the college council fund by $2,000. Grashoff said college council does more each year and will need to use this money to create more programs.
