LSU’s men’s cross country team placed 13th at the Southeastern Conference Championships in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, while the women’s team placed 14th. Arkansas won both races for the second consecutive year.
In the men’s 8k race, Arkansas finished in first place with 54 points, while LSU finished in 13th place with 361 points.
Arkansas senior Stanley Kebenei finished in first place at 23 minutes and 49. 27 seconds after finishing one spot off the lead in last year’s race.
LSU senior Philip Primeaux was the first Tiger to cross the line. Primeaux came in at 25:29.20 for 36th place.
Junior Travis Pope’s 83rd-place finish and freshman DC Lipani’s 92nd-place finish rounded out the Tigers’ top-100 finishes.
Arkansas finished in first place with 32 points, and LSU finished 14th with 385 points in the women’s 6k race.
Junior Morgan Schuetz time of 21:31.35 for a 52nd-place finish led the Lady Tigers, a marked improvement from her No. 102 finish in last year’s race.
Sophomore Chaiss Matthews finished in 90th place, and seniors Andrea Maxwell and Andria Aguilar notched 95th and 97th-place finishes.
The Tigers and Lady Tigers travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas and Agri Park Cross Country Course Nov. 14, where they will compete in the NCAA South Central Regional meet.
