LSU forward Angel Reese wasn’t with the team Friday for its road matchup against Southeastern Louisiana. The Tigers came away with a 73-50 win.
This comes after she sat the bench in the second half against Kent State, a move head coach Kim Mulkey explained to be a “coach’s decision.
Reese played a total of 14 minutes against Kent State, in which the Tigers came away with a 109-79 win.
After the team’s win against the Lions, Mulkey addressed Reese’s absence to the media.
“Angel was not in uniform. Angel is a part of this basketball team, and we hope she’s back with the team soon,” Mulkey said. “I’m not gonna answer any more than that.”
Last season, Reese was one of the Tigers’ most vital pieces in their national championship run. She averaged a double-double of 23.0 points per game and 15.4 rebounds per game.
Reese was a first-team All-American last season, MVP of the 2023 Final Four and won an ESPY award for Best Breakthrough Athlete.
