Early signing day is here for young basketball players around the country, and Kim Mulkey and her staff are seeing the fruits of their labor right away. LSU women’s basketball has signed the top recruit in Louisiana, Jada Richard.
Richard is a 5-foot-6 guard from Lafayette Christian Academy in Lafayette. According to ESPN, Richard is ranked as the 95th overall player in the class of 2024.

She’s won three state championships thus far in her high school career. This past season, she secured her team a state title with a performance of 32 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals. Richard averaged 28.2 points per game, five assists per game, four steals per game and five rebounds last season.
According to ESPN, Richard is the only LSU signee ranked in its Top 100. With many freshmen, young returners and transfers eligible to return for next season, the depth chart looks like it could remain stagnant for next year.
