This week we’ve curated all sorts of metal to cover a genre that’s expansive and timeless. So to cover the basics: lyrical themes are often focused on the occult, religion, and generally are dark + heavy, loud, and distorted guitars. Also, one fun fact– a lot of dark and black metal comes from Scandinavia (Bathory is one example). We also included some sludge metal, a subgenre of doom metal, which originated in Louisiana!
