UPDATE: LSU has announced that university roads are now passable, but some city streets remain hazardous. Day and night classes are canceled.
LSU has canceled Monday classes after a tornado warning was issued for the Baton Rouge area. This comes after several reports of power outages and flooding in Baton Rouge.
The warning ended at 10 a.m.. But the university sent out a text alert to all students, warning them to remain in shelter due to high wind speeds and flooded roads.
A tornado watch will remain in the area until 1 p.m. Monday and a flash flood warning will remain until 1 p.m. Tuesday.
