Festival season means getting yourself ready for a weekend of good music, good food and a good atmosphere. But, that doesn’t mean you can forget the little things, With Voodoo Music and Arts Experience coming up this weekend, here are your must-haves to make the weekend go smoothly.
Phone charger –Don’t think you won’t need it. Bring a charger or at least a battery pack. You can’t take pictures of your favorite band if your phone is dead. Also important, you will get lost trying to contact friends who went to see one act when you were at another.
Cash – You’ll need cash for most purchases. Or you can sacrifice an arm, leg and your first-born child to pay the ATM transaction fee. No one has the money for that.
Sunscreen/bug repellant – Just because it’s the end of October doesn’t mean the sun won’t shine. Getting sunburnt or eaten alive by bugs will make for a miserable time. Buy travel sizes to make them easy to carry.
Poncho – In Louisiana the weather is always unpredictable. You don’t want to be the one person toward the front with a giant umbrella blocking everyone’s view. Bring a poncho to prepare for the rain and a little jacket with a hood if the dreary forecast brings a chilly breeze along with it.
Hand sanitizer – This is probably the best way to stay sanitary without having to hunt down a sink. With so many people in one space, someone is bound to pass around a cold. Plus, you never know when the restroom areas will run out and take a while to replace it. You’re welcome.
