Former LSU All-American defensive back Patrick Peterson donated $1 million dollars to the LSU football program, the program announced on Saturday.
Peterson’s contribution included $500,000 in cash and $500,000 for planned giving. The gift is one of the largest grants any former student athlete has given the university.
Peterson donated as a contribution for the future renovation of the LSU Football Operations Building. Peterson’s name and donation will be remembered by LSU, which plans to name the renovated weight room, “The Peterson-Roberts Weight Room.”
Peterson will be presented for his donation in the opening quarter of Saturday’s game against McNeese State.
